Bulgaria will cover its gas needs with offshore gas
Bulgaria has stated that in 2017-2018 it will be able to stop importing Russian gas completely against offshore gas production.
It has become known in 2012 that prospective oil and gas area Khan Asparuh, that stretches 15 km2 from Burgas sea port to the border with Romania, has reserves comparable to the neighbouring Romanian oil and gas field Neptune, which is expected to produce 2.5 billion m3 of gas within 40 years.
«The discovery of such reserves in our country means that Bulgaria will be fully provided with gas up to 2030», – told the press Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov.
