Austria supports Bulgaria for Schengen membership

Austria has a positive attitude towards the Schengen bid of Bulgaria, President of Austria Heinz Fischer said at a joint press conference with his Bulgarian counterpart Rossen Plevneliev in Vienna.

President Fischer said Austria would support the Schengen membership of Bulgaria during the meeting of the EU Council on Justice in October. Both presidents pointed out the good economic relations between Bulgaria and Austria, which is the second biggest investor in this country.
