European Day of Jewish Culture marked in Bulgaria
The Jewish community in this country marked the European Day of Jewish Culture with a festive program on September 23. This year’s event is themed The Spirit of Jewish Humor.
To preserve a nation’s culture means to preserve its individuality and we find this particularly important, Israeli Ambassador to Bulgaria H.E. Mr. Shaul Kamisa Raz said in his speech. Jewish culture consists of many parts and we have the chance to share its beauty together with all nations, he added.
This community has serious contribution to Sofia’s turning into a capital of ethnic and religious tolerance, Mayor Yordanka Fandakova stated in front of the guests at the party. The Jewish community was also hailed on behalf of PM Boyko Borissov.
