Burgas port overtopped the freight handling target by 11.5 %
Burgas port keeps the positive trend in the rise of quantitative and qualitative indices for company’s performance in the first eight months of 2012 against the similar period of 2011.
By September 1, 2012 the largest port operator has handled 1 538 thousand tons of cargoes (which amount is by 140 thousand tons larger than in 2011), overtopping the company’s target, approved by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, by 11.5 %.
The volume of container handling has been raised by 45% in tonnage and by 70% in TEU. An especially interesting surge has been reached in handling of refrigerated containers – from 1000 TEU in 2011 up to 4000 TEU in 2012.
Qualitative indices: operating profit – 3436 thousand levs, net profit – 3178 thousand levs.
