Number of foreign tourists to Romania in August grew by 12.9%
In August 2012 the number of arrivals and overnight stays of tourists grew by 5.5% and 6.1% comparing with 2011 – these data were announced by the Romanian National Statistic Institute (NSI).
In addition to that, according to NSI data, in August 2012, comparing with August 2011, there was a growth in the number of border crossings by foreign tourists (+12.9%) and in the flights of Romanian citizens abroad (+2.9%).
The number of arrivals and overnight stays of tourists grew by 11.1% and 8.5% over the period from January 1 till August 31, 2012, against the same period of 2011.
