New outbreak of African swine fever detected in the Krasnodar Krai

The cases were registered on a farm, where more than 12,000 animals are kept.

Mortality of pigs was recorded at the farm «Plemzavod imeni V.I. Chapayeva» on October 4. Expert examination, performed by the Kropotkin Krai Veterinary Laboratory, says «in the pathological material from dead pigs genetic material of African swine fever virus was found.»

The farm was rated as the so-called first threatened area. It is planned that all livestock will be killed. Emergency regime has been declared in the area.
