Moldovan weather forecasters expect air, soil frost this week
The State Hydro-Meteorological Service warns of frost conditions in Moldova on 9-13 October.
According to the first deputy director of the service, Elina Plesca, air and soil frost of about 1-2 degrees below zero is expected on 9-13 October.
No precipitation is expected on 9 October. At night, the air temperature will vary between +3 and +8 degrees and between + 12 and +17 degrees during the day.
Showers are expected until 15 October, except 10 and 13 October. At night, the air temperature will oscillate between +2 and +8 degrees on 10-13 October, between +4 and +9 degrees on 14 October, and between +7 and + 12 degrees on 15 October.
During the day, the air temperature will vary between +12 and +17 degrees on 10-12 October and between +15 and +20 degrees on 13-15 October.
According to the State Hydro-meteorological Service's multiannual data /1886-2011/, on this period, the highest air temperature in Chisinau was +29 degrees Celsius on 8 October 1990 and the lowest -1.1 degrees Celsius, on 8 October 1969.
