Opening Danube Bridge 2 depends on exploitation company

The final linking of the two portions of Danube Bridge 2 between Vidin (Bulgaria) and Kalafat (Romania) should be effectuated in the coming days, Transport Minister Ivaylo Moskovski informed.

He added that finalizing works would depend on meteorological conditions. As to the start of exploitation of the bridge, it would depend on the creation of the company to run the bridge. According to a Memorandum signed in 2000, road taxes would be collected on Romanian territory.

By November the issue should be cleared so that the exploitation of the facility is not hindered by bureaucratic functions, said Romanian Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Ovidiu Silagy after talks in Sofia.
