Windstorm inflicts serious damage in Adjara

At 5 am hurricane broke power lines, knocked over poles, accidents happened on several locations of the gas pipeline, local authorities report. The hurricane also blew roofs of many houses and felled trees.

Adjara government representatives are on the emergency site.

Besides the coastal area, alpine regions of Adjara were struck, too. Heavy rains caused a landslide in the village of Kirnati (Khelvachauri District) there were no casualties.

Bad weather in the region is persisting.
