First snow fell at Aibga mountain ridge peaks near Sochi
The snow thickness is 15 centimeters at a height of 2000 meters above sea level. This infrormation has been provided by Alexei Tsmokan, Avalanche Service Deputy Manager.
“Normally the peaks of the Western Caucasus are covered with snow at the end of October. But this year this process has been finished two weeks earlier. This is good, because if we have more snow, then the winter season at the downhill skiing complexes “Laura”, “Rosa Khutor”, and “Russkie Gorki/Russian roller coaster” will be more successful. The first skiing fans will come to Sochi soon”, – Alexei Tsmokan believes.
