Flood in western Turkey leaves 3 people dead
Flood has hit Luleburgaz town of Kirklareli, western province of Turkey and left 3 people dead on October 23.
Torrential rains caused the flood and around 50 houses were affected in Buyukkaristiran district.
Buyukkaristiran deputy major Mesut Colak told AA correspondent that people escaped the flood by climbing up the roofs of their houses and trees and they were rescued by civil protection teams.
The bodies of Siyami Yeni (45) and Semih Yeni (21), a father and a son, and Zehra Demirel (93) who were dragged by flood were recovered.
D-100 highway opened to traffic after being closed for 7 hours.
Several houses and vehicles were damaged in the district.
Meanwhile in neighboring province of Tekirdag, 300 people stuck in the inundated houses were rescued.
