Damage of the Romanian passenger railway transportation company amounts to the half of its yearly budget

Multiple searches and arrests were conducted at the «Romanian railways» enterprise and its subsidiaries on October 25.

Such inspection was caused by the information about the organized business on passengers’ travels without any tickets. 70 persons are suspected of complicity in this business in the Braşov office of the company.

Totally almost 200 persons are suspected of involvement in this case. The anti-corruption agencies states that a group of people, being distant relatives, had worked at the «Romanian railways», coordinating their activities and covering up each other.

The damage from such activity is estimated at the level of 40 % yearly budget of this passenger transportation company.
