Bulgarian Government plans to sign an agreement about South Stream project
The signature of the South Stream gas pipeline agreement with Russia is scheduled for November 9.
According to the Bulgarian Prime-Minister, implementation of this project will ensure the possibility for Russian gas transportation to Europe. As for «Burgas – Alexandroupoli» oil pipeline, Borisov thinks that this project has been economically unattractive for Bulgaria and, besides, it could seriously harm the environment of the Bulgarian Black Sea region and the regional tourism industry in general.
Borisov believes that Russian and Bulgarian relations must not be evaluated based on the Belene nuclear power plant, brought to a close by the Bulgarian Government in March this year.
