Bulgaria-Romania gas connection to create new supply options
The natural gas connection between Bulgaria and Romania is a project of substantial importance for the security of gas supplies to both countries, said the CEO of Bulgartransgaz Kiril Temelkov.
The Bulgaria-Romania project has been endorsed by the European Commission and has access to financing to the tune of € 9m for the two countries. The connection of the two natural gas systems will allow for the transfer of gas in critical situations. More than 80% of the gas that Bulgaria consumes, comes from Russia, Temelkov recalled.
