Merkel offers Turkey joint management for national airway

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on November 3 said that the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, during a recent trip to Germany, offered him to establish joint management for Germany's national air carrier Lufthansa and Turkey's national air carrier Turkish Airlines (THY).

Erdogan's remarks came during an opening speech of his political party's meeting in Kizilcahamam town of Turkish capital Ankara.

«I have responded positively to Merkel's offer. We do hope that the THY and Lufthansa can take such a step,» Erdogan stressed.
