November 9 – Friday is the day for Patriarch Maxim mourning

November 9 – Friday is proclaimed day of national mourning on the decease of Bulgarian Patriarch Maxim, Bishop of Sofia.

The decision was made at a sitting of the Council of Ministers on the request of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church. Patriarch Maxim left us on November 6 at the age of 98.

He will be buried on Friday, November 9, in Troyan Monastery where Maxim was initially accepted as neophyte at the age of 11.
