World class snooker championship in Sofia

Bulgaria hosts its first ever snooker ranking tournament. The Princess hotel in Sofia hosted a competition between world class snooker players ranked among the best 100 in the world rankings.

The No 1 seeded Judd Trump from England won the title of the Viktoria Bulgaria Open, part of the European Snooker Championship with a total prize fund of € 73 000. At the final Trump defeated John Higgins from Scotland 4:0 frames.

Thus, the 23 year old English snooker player won his 9th title in his professional career, winning € 12 000 from the prize fund. «The audience was great and the atmosphere provided was of a world class. I can say that Sofia is among the best 3 places I have ever played. I was also impressed by the beautiful women here», – said the English player.
