Moldovans unhappy about development path - survey
About 72 per cent of people believe that things are going in a wrong direction in Moldova, according to the Public Opinion Barometer (BOP) presented today by the Institute of Public Policies.
According to BOP, mostly national minorities and urban residents shared the above-mentioned opinion. Most respondents were dissatisfied with the activity of the country's leadership in the main fields of life: salaries - 92 per cent, jobs - 91 per cent, and living conditions 88 per cent.
According to the survey, the number of respondents dissatisfied with the situation in most fields increased over the past year. About 66 per cent of the interviewees were dissatisfied with the economic situation. Other 33 per cent said that the economic situation unchanged against the last year, meanwhile 59 per cent said that it got worse.
About 75 per cent of the respondents said that they were poor and other 34 per cent said that their salaries covered only the essential goods and services. Most respondents were concerned mainly about prices and poverty.
The survey was conducted among 1,237 people from 88 populated areas on 30 October -12 November. Its margin of error is 3 per cent. The sociological research was made with the support of the foundation Soros Moldova.
