Moldova and EU sign financial agreements in health and education spheres
On November 30 the Republic of Moldova and the European Union signed agreements on rendering financial assistance totaling 11 million euros in the fields of public health and education.
Signatures under the documents were put by the Moldovan Deputy Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Iurie Leanca and EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule.
President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Durao Barroso stated in this connection at his news conference in Chisinau that 6 million euros will go for Moldovan public health sector modernization and the rest 5 million euros – for education and vocational training needs.
Barroso said that the European Union’s assistance to Moldova has thus reached 122 million euros – the largest figure among all EU neighbor countries.
