Ukraine intends to revive its merchant marine

This information has been announced by the Prime-Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov at the meeting with the Norwegian Minister of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs Lisbeth Berg-Hansen.

The Prime-Minister of Ukraine is in Norway now for a two-day official visit. The Prime-Minister has noted that Ukraine has high-capacity shipbuilding facilities, allowing the implementation of this task.

In her turn Lisbeth Berg-Hansen has informed that in 2013 the Ministry intends to allocate approximately $35 million to intensify the country’s partnership with Ukraine. According to her, among other things, these funds may be sent for the research in fishery industry.
