Ukrainian Navy may be reduced to 5 ships
After a long break, Ukraine’s Navy is returning to retirement of ships. If this trend does not change, in 5-6 years Ukrainian Navy will number no more than 5 ships.
Ukrainian Navy Commander Yuri Ilyin said this at a research conference.
The Navy command intends to propose new approaches to the quantity and quality of Ukrainian Navy at the round table to be held at the National Defence University in Kiev.
On November 9, Ukrainian Navy sent to retirement missile corvette "Kremenchug", ASW corvette "Uzhgorod", base minesweeper "Mariupol", missile boat "Kakhovka", target vessel "SM-15", and training ship "Simferopol".
