Moldova's meat exports and imports on the rise

Moldova’s meat export turnover in January-September 2012 stood at US$15.4 million, against US$11.5 million in 2011.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the greatest share of exported meat was supplied to the Russian Federation, Ukraine and Belarus.

The meat imports to Moldova also increased from US$21.04 million to US$30.5 million, the largest importers being Puerto Rico and Ukraine.

At the same time, the exports of milk and dairy products went down from US$5.9 million to US$5.2 million, whereas the imports rose from US$21.9 million to US$25.8 million.
