EU will provide EUR 40 million for Georgia's agriculture
The European Union and Georgia’s government will implement a program of the European Neighbourhood to develop agriculture and rural areas. Georgian Agriculture Minister Mr. David Kirvalidze, Head of Unit of Geographical Coordination Neighbourhood East at the European Commission Mr. Andrea Matteo Fontana and the EU Ambassador to Georgia Dr. Philip Dimitrov have held a meeting where they discussed the project’s start date and its main priorities.
The program’s goal is to increase food production in Georgia and to reduce poverty in rural areas through implementing national strategy and enhancing small farmers' enterprises.
