Crimea needs efficient system for counting tourists - Minister of Resorts

Crimea is ready to become a pilot region for the implementation of satellite accounts system in tourism.

This has been announced by the AR Crimea Minister of Resorts and Tourism at a press conference in Simferopol. As part of his report, the AR Crimea Minister of Resorts and Tourism Mr. Alexander Liev has said that at present the Crimea needs a verified system for counting tourists. Introduction of satellite accounts for tourism will help to satisfy this need.

«In order to introduce satellite accounts, Crimea needs rather strong support, both expert and financial. We will have to change a lot in the process of gathering analytical info and statistics. It would be very expensive to do this with Crimean budget, so we are conducting negotiations with the World Tourism Organization (UN WTO) and a number of other potential partners in order to implement the project with their assistance», - said the Minister. He outlined that all branches of the government were ready to implement this project in Crimea.
