Moldova, Qatar sign cooperation agreements in Doha
Moldova and Qatar signed a range of cooperation agreements in Doha on 10 December, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
Moldovan and Qatari Prime Ministers Vlad Filat and Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber bin Muhammad Al-Thani attended the signing ceremony.
The following documents were signed: the intergovernmental agreement on promotion and mutual protection of investments; the intergovernmental agreement on economic, commercial and technical cooperation, the intergovernmental agreement on abolishing visa regime for holders of diplomatic and special passports and the Memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation between the two states. Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Iurie Leanca signed the documents on behalf of the Moldovan government.
The chairman of the National Olympic Committee Nicolae Juravschi signed on Moldova's behalf a memorandum of understanding in the sports field between the above-mentioned committee and the Qatari National Olympic Committee.
The two sides wished each other good luck in implementing these agreements, saying that they set the basis for new cooperation between the two states.
