17 earthquakes recorded in Alushta in current year
Since the beginning of the year seismologists have recorded 17 earthquakes in Alushta with increased frequency in spring and autumn.
Head of Alushta seismic station Mrs. Valentina Antonyuk told the journalists about this.
According to her, the Crimean peninsula, and namely the area «Alushta - Sudak – Sevastopol» is a seismically active region, and small vibrations of the Earth's surface are marked regularly. However, they are not perceptible to humans and are not dangerous for the peninsula.
