Turkey’s emergency services will be combined into general phone line «112»

Turkey’s Ministry of Internal Affairs is going to expand the program, which will make it easier to contact the country’s emergency services.

At present, there exist 35 hotlines for different emergency services.

The new program simplifies the process so that people will be able to dial a single number «112», from where they will be connected with the necessary emergency service. The pilot project has been launched in two regions of the country and will start to be implemented in ten more regions in 2013.
