Ecological project starts in Moldova
Moldovan Parliament Speaker Marian Lupu attended the launch of Ecoverde Moldova project in Edinet district on December 12, the parliament's communication and media relations department has reported.
The organisers of the project said Ecoverde Moldova was launched by Mentor Group Holdings Consortium in cooperation with local authorities, offering a complete solution to waste-management problems. The solution combines the implementation of the project within the entire waste-system and financial support that may reach up to 100 per cent, with educational programmes for citizens. The programme allows a feasible implementation of the waste-management system, without using money from the state budget, offering high-quality services just as it is in the EU, while citizens will benefit from smaller waste taxes.
The organisers of the project have also said 11 factories that would process waste and produce electrical energy will be built in different Moldovan localities. The project aims at collecting waste with high tech trucks, which will be adapted to Moldova's conditions, and which will ecologically collect waste in new recipients that will be installed in every town. The farmers will also benefit from these projects, as they will be given the opportunity to use ecological compost, which will be produced by factories to boost the growth of crops. This method has been used by farmers in the EU for more than 30 years.
In the same context, Lupu welcomed the launch of the project, saying in the conditions of the current economic crisis, these investments, which amount to almost 0.5 billion dollars, are extremely necessary to solve a lot of problems. Lupu said as a result of this project's implementation, almost 2500 new jobs will be created. Also the project will offer an efficient and non-pollutant solution to process Moldovan waste, without being necessary to create landfills, which are the main cause of the environment's pollution.
