Moldova welcomes strengthening of cooperation between BSEC and EU
The Republic of Moldova unconditionally favors the consolidation of relations between the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) and the European Union, the Moldovan Deputy Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Iurie Leanca stated at the 27th conference of the BSEC Council of Foreign Ministers, which ended its work in Istanbul.
The session analyzed the progress of the projects launched after the anniversary summit on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of BSEC that was held in Istanbul on June 26, 2012.
The Council members spoke out for the development of regional cooperation within the BSEC frame so as to make the Organization more significant on the regional and wider international level.
Leanca stressed that cooperation with BSEC countries and with other regional organizations is very important for Moldova, and that’s why the republic unconditionally supports the consolidation of relations between the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) and the European Union.
At the Istanbul session, the BSEC presidency passed over to Ukraine, which will be chairing the Organization from January 1 to June 30, 2013.
