Establishment of the ministry of Roma affairs demanded in Romania

Accorging to Ukrinform, the Romanian nongovernmental organization «Pro Europa», uniting Romanian roma, demands Prime-Minister Victor Ponta to establish a special ministry of Roma affairs.

Such demanded has been announced to the Prime-Minister by one of the organization’s leaders Aurel Pascu: «We turn to the Prime-Minister with a demand to create a special ministry of Roma affairs, which would deal with resolution of problems, related to education, health protection, and employment of the citizens, representing our ethnic minority».

He has noted that establishment of such ministry, which must be headed by a roma representative, complies with requirements of the European Commission and will promote more efficient integration of roma into the society.
