Moldova, Transnistria facilitate travel regime during winter holidays
The border and customs processing in Transnistria will be facilitated during the winter holidays. It has been announced that on December 31, 2012, as well as on January 1, 6 and 7, 2013, those who cross the border of the region will have to show only their identity cards. For the first time ever, this practice was used during the Easter holidays in 2012.
«I discussed this issue with Transnistrian leader Yevgeny Shevchuk and we have reached an agreement. The needed measures on the free movement of citizens to the Transnistrian region, on December 31 – January 1, and on January 6-7, 2013, will be undertaken,» said Filat, asking Moldova’s Political Representative at the Transnistria negotiations, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Affairs Eugen Carpov to take into account this decision.
