Road tax cost to double in Moldova

On December 27 Moldovan parliament decided to double the cost of the road tax (vignette) for vehicles with foreign number plates.

Thus, a seven-day vignette will cost four euros after 1 January, against the current two-euro price. A 15-day vignette will cost eight euros, a 30-day vignette will cost 14 euros, a 90-day and 180-day vignette will cost 30 euros and 50 euros respectively.

Also the draft decision provides for an increase in the road taxes for vehicles with Moldovan number plates and cancels the local tax for vehicle owners.
