Number of Romanian Facebook users doubles in 2012

Social network Facebook became more popular in Romania in 2012, when the number of users doubled during the year, according to data from Facebrands.ro, which centralizes information about Facebook use in Romania.

The number of Romanian users on Facebook exceeded 5 million in 2012, with a quarter of them living in capital city Bucharest. The other Romanian cities with most active Facebook users are Constanta, Brasov, Craiova, Galati, Ploiesti and Arad.

Romanian Facebook users are distributed based on age – 30 percent are 18 to 24, another 30 percent 25 to 34, while the 13 to 17 and 35 and 44 age groups cover 15 percent each.
