Sofia hosts NABUCCO Committee meeting

Sofia is the venue of this year’s first sitting of the Committee on the NABUCCO gas pipeline. The meeting is chaired by Bulgarian Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Delian Dobrev.

Taking part are government delegations from Austria, Romania, Hungary and Turkey, representatives of the investor companies, EC general Directorate on Energy Engineering, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Investment Bank (EIB), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) etc.

Addressing the participants Premier Boyko Borissov underlined that this country is one of the locomotives of the NABUCCI project. The Premier added that Bulgaria is ready with the documents and by the middle of the current year will start the construction of the 434 kilometers of the pipe on Bulgarian territory. The Prime Minister called for all wishing to invest in the project to do so.
