Moldova expects 6 degrees above zero next week

The State Hydro-Meteorological Service has forecast an air temperature of + 6 degrees during the day on 11-17 January.

The first deputy director of the service, Elina Plesca, said that no precipitation is expected on 11 January. Fog and glazed frost are expected in some regions. The air temperature will oscillate between -5 and -10 degrees at night, and between -3 and +2 degrees during the day.

Snow and sleet are expected on 12 January. No precipitation is expected on 13, 14 and 17 January. Light snow is expected on 15-16 January. Fog and glazed frost are expected in some regions.

At night the air temperature will vary between -5 and -12 degrees on 12-14 January, between -1 and -6 degrees on 15 January, and about 0 degrees on 16-17 January.

The daytime air temperature will oscillate between 0 and +5 degrees on 12-13 January, and between 0 and + 6 degrees on 14-17 January.

According to the State Hydro-meteorological Service's multiannual data /1886-2012/, on this period, the highest air temperature in Chisinau was +15.1 degrees Celsius on 11 January 2005, and the lowest, -23.4 degrees Celsius, on 11 January 1950.
