Number of civil servants in Romania to be reduced by half

Amount of ministerial advisers and managers in institutions in Romania will be reduced by half starting from March.

This was announced by the Prime Minister of Romania, Victor Ponta, according to UKRINFORM.

Victor Ponta has also mentioned that after the reduction of the state apparatus there will be restructuring of large state companies aimed at staff reduction as well.  Efficiency of each employee will be evaluated solely on the basis of company operating performance.
