Russian marine ship on its way to Syrian port
The “Azov” marine ship of the Black Sea Fleet of Russia is on its way to Syria’s Port Tartus. Its escort ships will arrive on Friday, January 18 and it will arrive in Tartus next week, Interfax reports.
“Azov” was loaded with military vehicles and special forces. It has entered the Aegean Sea today, January 17, 2013.
Another such ship “Saratov” was on its way to Syria on January 10. According to this week’s information, Saudi Arabian intelligence services believed that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his family were spending most of their time on a ship in the Mediterranean Sea under protection of Russians. Assad may go for a meeting in Damascus by helicopter.
