Freight traffic by water in Romania rose by 10% in 2012

In 2012, freight traffic in Romanian ports totalled 50.5 mln tonnes, compared with 46 mln tonnes in 2011.

Of this total, sea traffic comprised 38.8 mln tonnes (in 2011 - 37.2 mln), river traffic reached 11.73 mln tonnes (in 2011 - 8.7 mln).

Container traffic was 6.7 mln tonnes, or 684,059 TEU (in 2011 - 6.5 mln tonnes, or 662,796 TEU).
