Turkish firm Polimeks to build Ashgabat International Airport for $ 2.2 billion
The Turkish company Polimeks has received an order from Turkmen Airlines on the construction of a new international airport in Ashgabat by August. The total project cost is estimated at $2.2
billion.
Polimeks won an international tender announced by the Turkmen authorities. Its results were presented at the last meeting of the expanded Cabinet of Ministers. Two German companies, EWC and Hoshtief,
and two French companies, Bouygues and the VINCI Construction, lost to Polimeks.
Polimeks have carried out about 120 construction projects in Turkmenistan in the past, including the construction of an airport in the Caspian city of Turkmenbashi (formerly Krasnovodsk).
The new airport will be able to serve 1,600 passengers per hour.
