Cost of maintaining Bulgarian contingent on Kabul airport voiced

The expenses for the maintenance of the Bulgarian company acting in the zone of responsibility of Kabul Airport in 2012 amounts to EUR 6.4 million.

The participation of the unit was suspended as of the beginning of this year according to the Strategy for transforming the participation of the Bulgarian forces in the operation under NATO command of the International forces for maintaining security in Afghanistan – ISAF. After the return of the unit, Bulgaria would continue its participation in the NATO operation in the region of Kabul with 82 military – officers, military police, two groups of advisors and a medical team.
