Formula One series will be held in Sochi in October 2014

Currently the track for car racing is being built on the premises of Sochi’s Olympic Park.

As the Mayor of Sochi Mr. Anatoly Pakhomov has reported, the Olympic Park already hosts several buildings that will be used to conduct Formula One series.

On October 14, 2010, Vladimir Putin and Bernie Ecclestone signed a contract to conduct Formula One race in Sochi. Under the contract, the track will be created in the Olympic Park, located in the Imeretin Valley. The track’s construction will cost Russia US$ 200 million.
