National Assembly ratifies Social Security Agreement between Bulgaria and Canada

The Bulgarian National Assembly has ratified the Social Security Agreement between Bulgaria and Canada. It was signed on October 5, 2012, in the Canadian capital Ottawa and was approved by the Council of Ministers of Republic of Bulgaria in the beginning of 2013.

The agreement aims to guarantee the pension rights of the citizens of both countries. It is in conformity with the principles for equal treatment of the citizens, transfer of pensions and the application of unified legislation with regard to the obligations for social security payments and the recapitulation of the social security periods.
