Istanbul hosts half million foreign visitors last month
Istanbul hosted 532,726 foreign tourists in January 2013.
According to AA's information received from the Culture and Tourism Department of Istanbul, the number of tourists who have arrived in Istanbul by air has gone up 17 percent in January when compared to the same month last year while the number of tourists who have arrived by seaway has increased by 400 percent in the same month.
The number of foreign tourists who have arrived in Istanbul in January went up 17.9 percent when compared to the same term last year.
13 percent of all foreign tourists who have arrived in Istanbul in January landed at the Sabiha Gokcen International Airport.
7.7 Percent of all foreign tourists who arrived in Istanbul were Germans followed by Russians with 7.3 percent and British with 4.1 percent.
