Code Yellow for heavy snow in 5 Bulgarian districts

Damp snow is covering almost the entire country after the considerable rainfalls on February 7. There is danger of spontaneous avalanches due to the heavy cover of fresh snow, mountain rescue services warn.

Yellow code is proclaimed in five districts in central, northern and southern Bulgaria. Weather forecasts warn of the piling of a substantial new snow cover in Smolyan region, where 15-30 liters of snow per square meter are expected.
