Moldovan PM visited sweets factory
On February 26, 2013 Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat visited the Nefis sweets factory, in Cojusna village, Straseni district, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
Filat assessed working conditions at the factory and visited production halls.
Subsequently, employees presented Filat the factory, products and results the factory had achieved over the last 15 years.
The Moldovan prime minister said he was pleased with the factory.
“The current situation of this factory proves it is possible to launch successful businesses in Moldova. I thank investors for making this investment. The factory has over 400 employees, which means the lives of 400 families are ensured,” Filat said.
Filat said he had discussed Moldova’s investment climate and its improvement prospects with the factory’s leadership.
“It is clear that we must work more to draw investments and remove barriers in this sector. However, the fact that we can communicate and find solutions to improve the investment climate, is rather important,” Filat said.
The Nefis sweets factory is one of the companies that represented Moldova in numerous international exhibitions. The factory has eight branches and produces over 100 brands of biscuits, which are exported to Romania, Serbia, the Baltic countries, Russia, Africa, the US and Cyprus. The company brought the state budget a 18-million-lei income in 2012.
