EBRD plans new strategy for Azerbaijan

Head of the office of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Azerbaijan Neil McKain said that the bank had started preparations for a new strategy for Azerbaijan.

Officials of Azerbaijan and the UK were preparing a document. Official consultations coordinated by Azerbaijani Minister for Economic Development Shakhin Mustafayev will start in May.

The EBRD will have meetings at other ministries, partners of the bank, clients and other organizations. The new strategy will be active from December 2013 to December 2016.

The EBRD approved 15 projects worth a total of €81 million in Azerbaijan in 2012. 135 investment deals worth over €1.52 billion have been signed with Azerbaijan so far.
