High waters: fist level emergency response along the Danube River
The level of the Danube River at Vidin reached 775 centimeters, having gone up by 31 cm in the last 24 hours. First level of emergency response is expected to be proclaimed on March 19. This measure is introduced when the river goes above 750 cm.
The state of protection dikes along the Vidin section of the river is in good condition; all protection devices are monitored, the hydro-technical service in the city informed. If the Danube level surpasses 800 cm the second level for response readiness would have to be introduced.
