Reconstruction of Sochi sea port will cost 19 bln RUB
Investments from the federal budget into the development of Sochi port are estimated at 19 billion roubles, Sochi-24 reports.
According to deputy head of Russia’s Federal Agency of Sea and River Transport (Rosmorrechflot) Mr. Viktor Vovk, funds are allocated for the construction of seven sea terminals in Sochi’s seaport, creation of a cargo area in a port at the mouth of the river Mzymta, as well as for Sochi port’s reconstruction in order to create a centre of international passenger traffic.
7 sea terminals (at Matsesta, Dagomys, Adler, Kurgorodok, Khosta, Lazarevskoye and Loo) will become operational in February 2013. Sochi’s cruise terminal will become the city’s showpiece. Prior to the reconstruction the port was able to receive annually 500 ths tons of freight and 150 ths passengers. The reconstruction involves creating a cruise harbour with two berths to receive liners with a maximum length of 300 m. A ferry pier for ferries with capacity of up to 500 passengers will also be constructed.
