Crime rate rises in Georgia
4,598 criminal acts were registered in November 2012 in Georgia, increasing by 1,719 compared with November 2011, Netgazeta reports.
The number of theft cases increased by 55%. Lawyer Ramin Papidze noted that amnesty was necessary and increasing crime was expected.
Over 8,000 convicts were released via the amnesty. About 2,000 convicts were pardoned by the president. 150 convicts were put back to jail for crime, 80 of them were pardoned, 70 pardoned by the president.
