Healthcare Minister Petrov launches first cyclotron complex in Bulgaria

The Minister of Health Prof. Nikolai Petrov has launched on April 1 the official commissioning of the first cyclotron complex in Bulgaria in Varna.

Prof. Nikolay Petrov said that with the beginning of the Bulgarian production of isotopes, on the one hand, we would achieve independence in the delivery of the necessary supplies for the needs of Bulgarian patients, and on the other hand - their production will have a significant economic impact as it will significantly reduce the current cost of diagnostic tests. The cyclotron equipment that is of the highest class costs 2.5 million euros.
